Hi,
I having trouble importing RAW images from my GoPro (.GPR). I have followed the installation steps carefully and moved the imageJ directory to different locations. I see on the Libraw website that .GPR files are covered, is this the case for the current version of the toolbox?
Cheers,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Could you share a file so I can test it out? I didn’t realise GoPros did raw, quite cool!
It’s quite possible that the support by LibRAW is more recent than the version bundled with micaToolbox, so should be straightforward enough for me to update.

Hi Mark,
GoPro GPR file support in LibRAW is possible, but requires a whole extra pile of code/libraries from GoPro to be combined when compiling the software. So is a bit of a headache and I don’t have time to compile it right now (across all the operating systems etc…).
However it’s quite a compressed RAW format, so for now I’d recommend you just use the JPG images instead (follow the image linearisation process). You won’t loose a huge amount of information/dynamic range. Just set a fixed white balance and save the highest quality JPG possible.

Hi Jolyon,
Thank you for checking. I’ve decided to opt for another action camera (DJI osmo action). It records RAW images in another format (.DNG) and they work with the current version of the toolbox!
Cheers,
Mark
Hi Jolyon,
Thanks for your reply. Here is a link to some sample images https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FXK34PtNHbFNcscUiUm-0Ks2tJYgTwD1?usp=sharing
GoPro also seems to save the image twice as a .GPR and a .JPEG, I read somewhere that the jpeg image is saved separately and isn’t embedded in the raw file. Also, GoPro can only take raw images in Wide FOV so they may need to be altered to Linear FOV.
Cheers,
Mark
