Hello,
Is it possible to calibrate a camera within Mica using a raw image? I know that my camera has a non-linear response, and so before standardizing my images I want to model this response and correct for it. However, it seems that the Mica “Model Linearisation Function” only accepts compressed images; this is true even after confirming that DCRAW is installed and working properly. Is this possible within Mica, or do I need to linearise my images elsewhere and then return to Mica to standardize them?
Thanks,
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
Hmm, I’ve never had to do that before! Does the RAW image need to be opened with DCRAW? e.g. you can easily work with non-linear uncompressed TIFF images at the moment. If the image does need to be opened with DCRAW it should be pretty easy to hack the code to open the image.
Cheers,
Jolyon
Hi Jolyon,
Thanks for your answer. It turns out I was actually using the wrong function within Mica – what I term camera linearization is instead termed creating a cone-catch model within the toolbox. So that was an easy fix. If you’d like, feel free to remove my question, since it was really just user error.
Thanks,
Amanda
